Well if gelding him is out of the question,than you can try what I did with my guy when he was a baby, he used to nip and rare.
Put him in the round pen and work him for a short while than let him come in to you for a pat,if (ha,ha) I mean when he goes for you push him out fast and hard, and keep him going for 5-10 laps then bring him in again, Repeat all the steps until he figures out that it is much easer to stand still and not nip than it is to run around. Don't be alarmed if he is wet and out of breath before he gets it, some colts can be hard headed.
It took my guy almost an hour to get it,with only one relaps.
