Hi,

It is me again, lol. I could not find a trainer near my area. So I am going to do this on my own. (Starts breaking out the sweat buckets!) I have been working on building trust I have turned him out of the stall and I do believe I have not done badly. My gelding is coming somewhat close to me and walking with me some when I go into his pasture area. Also the only time he gets sweet feed is if I put it in his feed pan, and place it so far from me. I have been testing how close he will come and yesterday he was about 4 ft from me. He was nervous but he ate from his feed. He watches me constantly when I am working around him. ( My chicken pen is inside the pasture/pen so I go in a few times a day for my chickens.) He has began to follow me to the chicken pen and stands there waiting for me to get back out and walks back to the barn with me. So I am making a bit of progress and day before yesterday I was sitting out in the pasture on the ground talking with him and he actually rolled several feet from me.

What I am going to need help on is how to balance the gentling/training with not letting his agressiveness be got away with. I had forgotten about horses being proud cut and was reminded of it last week. I believe that is what my gelding is, and though I have seen these kinds of horses, I have never personally dealt with one of these either. So I have many first coming up lol and it would be nice to have a sounding board to run thoughts and ideas passed someone who is a bit more experianced than I am with these matters.

Thanks for reading/listening it is appreciated very much.

Terri
