Are there any auctions held near by? Some places have tack auctions/sales which are kind of like the equivalent to eqiune garage sells, LOL. People bring their used stuff to sell. The lady I worked for for a couple of years used to go all the time and get armloads of halters and ropes for almost nothing. Considering we were in charge of about 30 horses and bunches of kids who weren't real reliable with taking care of the halters and ropes, this was very important, LOL!
If you're looking for new stuff, try Jeffers, they usually have both the "fancy" brands as well either their own brands or cheaper brands for the majority of us horse poor folks! They have a website, and I think its www.JeffersEquineSupply.com but I won't swear to it! You should be able to find them on any search engine though. Their phone is 1-800-Jeffers.
