be firm with him. if he tries to bite you on the ground, give him a smack (not on the head, that could make him become head shy) and make a noise, growl at him or say "hey!" or "quit it!" it he bites while tightening the girth, have an experienced person hold him. Try to make it clear that biting is not acceptable. Even try giving a little jerk on the rein(when youre on the ground) to rtemind him that you are in charge. Also, dont feed him treats until hes back in the stall. If you give him a treat he's tempted to bite you for more. ANother trick ive read about is poking him in the muzzle. Just make sure to be firm and quick in your punishment, and don't his him in the head, it will just scare him so he'll be head-shy. Good luck!
