My daughter has been riding since she was 2, on lead rein only as Holly the shetland is not fully trained, and is very green, so I decided that my daughter needed to ride on riding school ponies to learn more, then she could go back to riding Holly once she had more experience.
This picture was taken at jadene's first riding lesson at school. I was so pleased that she picked up her rising trot ( she rides English, as we live in England) quicker than the other kids who had been in the lesson a while longer. I realise now that she has bags of confidence, as yesterday, one of the kids in her class accidently cantered, and I think my daughter secretly wanted a go LOL, and she's only 5 !!
Anyway, I decided yesterday that she was ready to ride out on a trail ( we call it ''hacking'') with me, and I led her on Holly, off my horse, Star, and we had a lovely time, and I was so proud to be riding at last with my daughter, it was one of my dreams come true !!
