I am having problems jumping my 6 y.o tb gelding. I have been riding for nearly 5 years and have owned him for 1 and a half years, i'm only 16 so I don't really know too much about jumping and as my horse has only been jumping a year we don't really make such a good team. He is quite a long tb and i have been told that he has quite a nice jumping style but quite a lot of the time he refuses the jumps the first time and because he has really long striding, i stuggle to get him to shorten it so we take off in the right position. I would like to start eventing him soon. How can i fix these problems?
