:i know this is probably the wrong place to put this, but i kinda figured since i would be in "Horse Land" for the most part, and this bein' the first forum i clicked on, it would be as good as any!!!

:I'm tryin' to float through the chat rooms, cause i figure that's about the best places for me to learn without totally lookin' stupid!!! lol.....but since lookin' stupid is my forte, i'm jumpin' in with both feet!!!

:anyways, my question is this: if i jump into a chat room, after i'm already logged onto the site, will it bring up my handle while in the chat room, or will it post me merely as guest? cause when i tried it earlier tonight, i was posted as "guest" even though i had alread logged in while i was on the home page.

:lol.....and to think, i wanted a degree in computer science!!! no wonder i changed majors.....AGAIN!!!

:thanks ya'll!

Hi Jenn!

Welcome to the Horsehobbyist!

Actually, this is the perfect place to ask that question and no, its not a dumb question at all! You should have seen us poor hosts fumbling around trying to figure all this new stuff out - and then we're supposed to tell everyone else how to ues it!! Eeek!

To answer your question though, you will have to log in to the chat rooms. They are not connected to our board system. (Which is a good thing since we've been promised nice shiney new boards!). So you could even log into the chat rooms with a different name than what you use on the boards and vice versa. Of course, you would confuse the dickens out of the rest of us ;o)

So hop around, check things out, and be VERY vocal about what you think might work better, look better, etc. because we're listening and trying to make this place the best horse home on the web :)

Oh - and drop in for our scheduled chats...we have one Tuesday night from 9-11 ET, Wednesday night from 10-11 ET and a wild and wooly Saturday Night Barn Party from 9-11 ET. Ummm...be sure to bring your own fireworks and scuba gear though...and hockey sticks can sometimes come in handy!
