:Hi,
:I am a 'trail rider'.....I do parades and trails.....but I love the communication you can have with your horse while training. I would like some good books for the self starter. I have to train myself--unfortunately. I love dressage work and have used the little bit of dressage exercises I am aware of while training my Paso Finos. It seems to calm them and make them think and wait for the next request I make. Can you all suggest some books or videos? I love the beautifully controlled movements of a fully trained dressage horse, and want to train my Paso Finos so I can show off in those parades, too. Also, any books on the training used in the Spanish Riding School?
:Thanks!!

There are several books out there on dressage, as well as the various schools out there. Try Barnes and Noble's search engine, I've always found it helpful!
Hi Horses! Glad you've found our boards :)
Have you read "Centered Riding"? That's one of the best overall riding books out there, IMO. The author is very visual with her writing so you can really see where she's coming from and what exactly she's telling you to do.
