:Okay, does anyone have a good idea for cleaning Breyer models? I have some older models that I purchased from a garage sale and they look pretty dirty, I have tried just soap and water but that did not work. Any other ideas?
What kind of dirt is on them? Is it just years of dust that has settled and become a permanent coat or is there grease, etc?
Don't use any type of acetone (like finger nail polish) because that will definitely melt the material they are made of (though you can use it to put their legs back on!)
I know someone who has an elaborate collection and does some of her own models/painting, let me see if I can't get her thoughts on the subject!
